Five tips for an SEO friendly blog post

When posting on your blog you need to make sure that the post is SEO friendly as well as informative and engaging.  The keywords need to be used but not spammed everywhere and the content needs to be unique, relevant and timeless.  Here are 5 quick and simple tips to make sure each post is optimised to fit these standards.

1 – Title Structure
Include the keywords in the title while keeping the title relevant.  Just as in this title we have tips, SEO and blog.  We also have “SEO friendly” which is a phrase that many people will search for, maybe you did and that’s how you found this page?

2 – Keywords
The two main tips here are to use relevant keywords in your post while keeping the context and natural flow of the content in place .  To do this, use keywords sparingly to make sure your copy makes sense as you read it and not just “crow bar” a keyword in as often as possible.  Not only does this make your post awkward to read but it may be picked up by the search engines as a bit spammy which could have a negative effect on your blog.  To keep your blog SEO friendly concentrate on writing the post to make it easy to read first and your keywords should naturally just drop in.

Fairly straight forward.  Write your own content.  Search engines understand duplicated and similar content  Keep your content fresh and new any way you can.  try to be different, clever, funny, maybe add your own personality to keep it unique.

4 – Relevant Content
Keep your content relevant to your site.  This will help the search engines find the overall theme of the site and help them help you get you ranking for your chosen keywords.  This blog, scopeformoney.com clearly says “make money online” in the title.  The blog posts are related to this, this blog post will help you rank your money making website well. You can’t mistake the theme of this site and neither will the search engines.

5 – Timeless Content
Tough one to do.  Keeping ALL your content timeless is very hard.  Some things will never change however so a blog post about those topics will help with this one.  Imagine writing a post about a current news event and 2 or 3 years down the line still having people linking to it and referring to it for information.  Writing, for example about footballer X playing for club Y may be interesting and in the theme of your blog and may make a very good read, but 3 months later he could be at a different club and that post will be forever out of date.  Adding posts that WILL be timeless into your blog may help you gain links in the future.
