After the Nokia-Microsoft partnership announcement with the explicit statement of making Windows Phone 7 the primary mobile strategy, one question seems to be asked. What happens to Symbian? The graphic above is the best answer to that as Windows Phone 7 will eventually replace Symbian as Nokia’s primary platform for mobile applications and services. But Symbian won’t die that fast as it will be treated as a “franchise platform” while the other platform, MeeGo, will be delegated as a “development platform.”
